The last letter in Lindsø is pronounced as the sound in the French number '2': deux. The letter 'ø' exist in Norwegian and Danish and is translated into English by an '-oe'. Lind- means lime tree or linden tree and -sø means lake. It sounds very beautiful in Norwegian and Danish.

Regarding the eldest generations, you must be aware that there are many uncertainties - especially earlier than about year 1600. So I cannot guarantee that information from that time is wholly correct. Moreover - many familys in Norway present ancestor lists going back to the old kings, but these lists are almost never correct. So even if I know that some family trees in Lisbeth´s family have King Hårald Hårfagre as a forefather, there exists no evidence that this is a fact, as is also the case in most other familys as well.

However, there are many men among her ancestors who are outstanding persons in the society, some wealthy, some with privileges from royal and clerical authorities, some with titles such as "ridder" or "væpner" (knight or something like that, noble persons anyway). So as in many Norwegian familys, there are all kinds of people, most of them probably ordinary hard working men and women.

"Hi again:) I have been in contakt with my sister Tove that have done some reseach on our family history. We are not related to the family Lindsoe in Dovre. My great grandmother , mother of Einar Lindsøe took a job on the Lindsoe farm in Dovre back in the old days. Before that she worked on a farm Killi in Dovre and she got a son with the son on the Killi farm, Even. That son was Einar. Later she left the farm and with her, she brought Einar to work and live at the Lindsoe farm. Einar grew up on the Lindsoe farm and took the name of the farm. They lived there a while but left Dovre and bought a house in Sel. With them, they also brought an old man from the Lindsoe farm, do not know if this old man was a Lindsoe. But my great grandmother took care of this man to his death. I dont know his name. Hmm..  this family research is not easy.
